6 days Congo primates and nyiragongo hike safari takes you to the most adventurous national parks of Kahuzi Biega where you will encounter the eastern lowland gorillas in Bukavu as well as have a boat cruise on lake kivu and later connect to Goma where you will head to virunga national park where you will spend an hour with the mountain gorillas and later have a hike to mount Nyiragongo.

DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1; TRANSFER TO BUKAVU
You will have the morning breakfast and the safari guide will meet you and brief you about the Rwanda safari. After the briefing, you will embark on the journey which takes 7 hours with enroute lunch and after proceed to Bukavu. On arrival, you will check into the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and a night stay.
DAY 2; EASTERN LOWLAND GORILLA TREKKING IN KAHUZI BIEGA NATIONAL PARK
After morning breakfast, you will head to the parks headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will head into the forest to search for the habituated eastern lowland gorillas for 5 to 6 hours. Once the gorillas are located, you will spend an hour with them as you watch them play, breastfeed, hunt among others as you take pictures and record moments. After the trekking, you will return to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and night stay.
DAY 3; TRANSFER TO GOMA AND CONNECT TO VIRUNGA NATIONAL PARK
You will have morning breakfast and check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to Bukavu port where you will sail along Lake Kivu and drive to Goma on a speed boat. On arrival, you will head to Grande barrier for clearance with the virunga park officials and then have lunch. After lunch, you will proceed to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and night stay.
DAY 4; MOUNTAIN GORILLA TREKKING IN VIRUNGA NATIONAL PARK
After morning breakfast, you will be transferred to Bukima police post for a briefing about the necessary information before heading to the forest. After the briefing, you will head into the forest in search of the endangered mountain gorillas with the help of a park ranger. Once the mountain gorillas are located, you will spend an hour with them as you watch their behaviors and take photos as well as record moments. After the trekking, you will return back to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and a night stay.
DAY 5; NYIRAGONGO HIKE
In the morning after breakfast, you will head to kibati ranger post for a briefing. After the briefing, you will start the hike which takes 6 to 7 hours depending on the fitness of the hikers. You will have stopover twice to have your packed lunch as well as relax and proceed to the summit late in the evening where you will have a night as you spot the active and boiling lava lake.
DAY 6; DESCEND NYIRAGONGO AND TRANSFER BACK TO KIGALI
After morning breakfast, you will descend from the top of mount nyiragongo back to kibati. On arrival at kibati you will embark on the journey back to Kigali with enroute lunch and have a city tour at the genocide memorial sites, markets among others. After the city tour, you will be dropped off at Kigali international airport for your flight back home.
