The park spans 2500 square kilometres and is primarily composed of grassland. The ideal safari destination in Rwanda to go on a wildlife safari is Akagera National Park. The park attracts a lot of visitors who come to witness the many animals. In addition to having a greater variety of habitats for animals especially the big five mammals, Akagera National Park also features acacia, open grasslands, African grasslands, wetland habitats, lakes, and more. One specific national park in Rwanda is called Akagera National Park. The only location where visitors can observe all five of the “big five” mammals while on safari is the savannah national park. This is particularly breathtaking during the game drive, when you may explore the park in a 4WD safari vehicle and do guided nature walks, among other safari experiences.
Although you may visit Akagera National Park any time of year, June through September is the ideal season to go because of the warmer weather and little fluctuations in the weather. The park’s vegetation may be dense at that time of year, which facilitates wildlife viewing. It is easier to spot the animals during that time of day because they like to congregate around the park’s water sources.
You can reach Akagera National Park from Kigali the capital city of Rwanda while using the Rwamagana town, and using the southern gate, the drive takes you around 2 hours to get there.
