Day 1: Kigali pick up and transfer to Virunga national park
Transfer to Virunga National Park: On the first day of your 5-day safari to the Virunga, Lake Kivu, and Nyungwe forests, a representative from our firm will pick you up from your Kigali hotel or airport and give you a briefing before you begin the trip to Goma via the Grande Barrier Border. You will pick up your gorilla trekking permits at the Virunga park headquarters after arriving in Goma, after which you will check in to your reserved lodge, have supper, and spend the night there.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Virunga national park Congo
On day two of a five-day tour of Virunga, Lake Kivu, and Nyungwe Forest, get out of bed in time for an early breakfast. Then, pack some snacks and water as you leave the lodge to meet your safari driver for a transfer to Bukima Police Post, where the adventure to trek the endangered mountain gorillas begins with a morning briefing, porter hiring, and then the real art of walking in the forest in search of the gorillas. Depending on the gorillas’ movements and the terrain’s characteristics, the complete gorilla trekking experience might span anywhere from a few minutes to several hours. Yet the journey will also reward you with additional park attractions, such as other monkeys, animals, birds, butterflies, and many tree types. After landing on the gorillas, you will spend an hour intimately engaging with them before leaving the jungle and returning to the resort for lunch. After checking out of the lodge, you will be taken to Gisenyi for a leisurely evening on the beaches of Lake Kivu.

Day 3: Explore Lake Kivu and transfer to Nyungwe forest national park
Drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park and explore Lake Kivu: On the third day of the five-day Virunga, Lake Kivu, and Nyungwe forest safari tour, discover the finest of Lake Kivu after breakfast before leaving the resort and beginning the journey to Nyungwe forest national park with lunch along the way. You will check into your lodge when you get there for supper and the night.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and Canopy walk in Nyungwe forest national park
Canopy walk and chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe Forest National Park: On the fourth day of your 5-day Congo Rwanda safari tour, meet your safari driver and go to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your hunt for endangered chimpanzees in their native habitats with armed rangers and other trekkers. As there are 13 other kinds of primates in the jungle, look out for them together with the chimpanzees. Mammals, birds, butterflies, and many other species with ecosystems may all be seen at Nyungwe Forest National Park. After locating the chimpanzees, you will only have an hour to spend in their environment shooting pictures and getting up close to them before leaving the jungle and making your way back to the resort for lunch. Following lunch, you will head back into the forest for one of the greatest canopy walks in the world, which draws tourists from all over the world to experience this unique adventure in Rwanda, the country of a thousand hills. After the two hours-long canopy walk, you’ll travel to your lodge for dinner and the night.

Day 5: Drive back to Kigali for departures
Return to Kigali to complete a city tour and to depart: On the fifth day of the five-day Congo Rwanda tour, savor a leisurely breakfast before checking out of the resort and meeting your safari driver to begin the journey to Kigali with a lunch stop on way. When you get to Kigali, you’ll start with a city tour that includes some of the memorials to the genocide, the Kimironko market, and several artisan stores. Afterwards, you’ll either be dropped off at a hotel in Kigali or at the airport for your flight out.
