DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1; ARRIVAL AT KIGALI
On arrival at kanombe airport in Kigali, the Rwanda safari guide will pick you and brief you about the safari. After, you will be transferred to your hotel for a relaxation, dinner and a night stay.
DAY 2; MORNING CITY TOUR AND TRANSFER TO THE VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK
Early in the morning after breakfast, you will have a city tour where you will visit the national museum, genocide memorial museum and others. After lunch, you will drive through the terraced hills to the volcanoes national park which is a home to the endangered mountain gorillas. On arrival you will head to the lodge for lunch. Later in the evening you will visit the banyarwanda community and have a cultural entertainment from the local people. After the cultural tour you will head back to the lodge for dinner and night stay
DAY 3; GORILLA TREKKING AND AFTERNOON CULTURAL WALK
After the early morning breakfast, you will head to the parks headquarters for a briefing from the park rangers. After you will start the trekking within the forest in search for the mountain gorillas. The trek takes 2 to 6 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. Once the gorillas are located, you will spend an hour with the gorillas as you watch their behaviors and take photos as well as record memories. After the trekking you will return back to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and night stay.
DAY 4; DIAN FOSSEY HIKE AND TRANSFER BACK TO KIGALI
In the morning after breakfast, you will go for a hike at Dian Fossey grave who was an American primatologist who dedicated her life conserving the lives of the mountain gorillas until she was killed by poachers and buried there nest to a mountain gorilla called digit. After the hike, you will return back to Kigali and later transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
