Day 1: Arrival in Kigali City
A tour guide from our Rwanda tour company will meet you at the airport and transport you to the hotel where you will spend the night and have supper.
Day 2: Transfer to Akagera National park and evening game drive
On the second day of your 10-day safari, you will leave early for a beautiful drive to Akagera National Park, arriving in time for lunch at Akagera Game Lodge. Take a lake sail in the afternoon after lunch. Expect to see waterfowl, crocodiles, and hippos. Supper and a night’s rest.
Day 3: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
On the third day of your 10-day safari, which includes breakfast, you’ll embark on early-morning game drives up to the northern portion of the park to spot early risers before they go into hiding. Among others, you will get the opportunity to witness lions, antelopes, giraffes, and bush bucks. About 11:00am, return to the hotel for some downtime before lunch. Go on an afternoon boat tour on Lake Ihema after lunch for a chance to see wildlife such as hippos, crocodiles, and many bird species. Supper and a night’s rest.
Day 4: Transfer from Akagera to Nyungwe National Park
On the fourth day of your 10-day safari, you’ll embark on a lengthy journey to Nyungwe Forest National Park. You will stop along the way for lunch and to see the Nyanza and Butare museums, among other exciting and photogenic locations. Get at Nyungwe in time for supper and to spend the night.
Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking
On the 5th day of your 10 Days Best of Rwanda safari after breakfast, you will go for a Chimpanzee trekking Excursion in Nyungwe Forest National Park. After the Chimpanzee trek, return to your lodge for evening relaxation as your waiting for Dinner and over night stay.
Day 6: Canopy walk
On the sixth day of your 10-day journey, go for a stunning forest canopy walk in the morning to see the forest’s top at a high cliff and take in the forest’s wind while listening to the songs of the birds, monkeys, and other animals.
Day 7: Transfer to Volcanoes national park
On the seventh day of your 10 Days Best of Rwanda safari, take a breath-taking drive to Volcanoes National Park with packed lunch and picture stops along the way. Arrive in Volcanoes National Park for dinner and a night’s stay in the evening.
Day 8: Gorilla tracking
Your eighth day of your 10-day safari, “The Best of Rwanda,” will begin with a pre-tracking briefing at the park’s administrative center. Depending on the group you are assigned and the movements of the gentle giants the night before, gorilla trekking may take 1 to 8 hours. Before leaving the jungle, spend no more than an hour in the gorillas’ presence. You may embark on cultural or environmental hikes to the Iby’iwacu Cultural Village in the afternoon. Supper and a night’s rest.
Day 9: Golden monkey / Dian Fossey
You can choose to go golden monkey tracking on the ninth day of your 10-day safari through Rwanda, or you can hike the Dian Fossey Trail at the Karisoke Research Center. Dian Fossey was an American anthropologist who spent years studying and protecting gorillas before she was killed and laid to rest next to a Silverback gorilla named Digit.
Day 10: Transfer to Kigali
On the final day of your 10-day trip of Rwanda, you’ll have breakfast in the morning before heading to Kigali, where you’ll arrive early to do your shopping. If your flight is on time, you will then be dropped off at the airport to check in for your departure.
