DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1; TRANSFER TO SIPI FALLS
The safari guide will pick you and brief you about the safari. After the briefing, you will embark on the journey to sipi falls which are located in the eastern part of Uganda at the base of Mt. Elgon in kapchorwa district. While on the way, you will pass through mabira forest and lugazi sugar plantations. On arrival you will have lunch and prepare for hiking. While on the hike, you will be accompanied by the local guide where you will start from the top most waterfalls and ascend to the bottom waterfall which is the main waterfall and ascend till you reach the shortest fall which is 75m. After the hike, you will head to the lodge for dinner and a night stay.
DAY 2; TRANSFER TO KIDEPO VALLEY NATIONAL PARK
Early in the morning after your breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and head to the coffee tour where you will visit the local plantations. While on the tour, you will learn about Arabica coffee and its stages of production. After the coffee tour, you will embark on the journey to kidepo valley national park with en-route lunch as you have great views of amazing sceneries, traditional homesteads, and local people among others. On arrival you will check into the lodge, have dinner and a night stay.
DAY 3; FULL DAY GAME DRIVE IN KIDEPO NATIONAL PARK
After having an early morning breakfast, you will head to the park for a game drive which starts at 6; 30am where you will spot animals such as spotted hyenas, bushbucks, giraffes, zebras, warthogs and elephants as they are grazing in open plains as well as bird species. After the game drive you will head back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will head back to the park for the afternoon game drive where you will drive to the Narus River which is the only place with permanent water source within the park. Animals such as waterbucks, lions, Jackson’s hartebeest, elephants, and buffaloes, bird species such as black breasted barbet, little weaver and yellow billed hornbill as you take photos among others. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for a night stay and dinner.
DAY 4; MORNING GAME DRIVE AND CULTURAL TOUR
You will have an early morning breakfast, and head out to the park for a morning game drive which gives an opportunity to spot animals that you had missed earlier. During the game drive, you will visit the kanangorok hot springs that lie 11km over the Kidepo River and is found in between the hard rock with boiling water that heats beyond 50 degrees Celsius. You will be able to spot mountains beyond the frontier, animals as well as interact with a number of the local people who come to offer sacrifices and seek blessings. After the game drive, you will head back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will go for a cultural tour, you will visit the karamajong pastoralists who stay within the community around the park at the borders of south Sudan and Kenya. While on the cultural tour, you will have a great chance to learn more about their culture, view their instruments such as spears, knives, beads and bows, visit their manyatta homesteads, view half naked people, listen to the ancient stories and enjoy their traditional dances and drama among others. After the cultural tour, you will head back to the lodge for dinner and night stay.
DAY 5; TRANSFER BACK TO KAMPALA
On the 5th day of your 5 days sipi falls and kidepo wildlife safari , After the morning breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the journey back to Kampala. On the way via Gulu-Kitgum with en-route lunch and then proceed to Kampala. On arrival the safari guide will drop you off at Entebbe airport for your flight back home or at any place of convenience.
