The 1 Day Ziwa Rhino Tracking Safari introduces you to a home of wild rhinos in Uganda which is known as Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for an amazing experience on your way to Murchison Falls National Park. While at the sanctuary, you will be able to spot the endangered rhinos in their natural habitat.

The sanctuary is seated on a 7000 hectares of land and its located in nakasongola north of Kampala along gulu highway towards Murchison falls national park. Besides the trekking you will be able to spot other creatures such as hippos, leopards, oribis, bushbuck as well as other bird species.

Detailed Itinerary

After your morning breakfast early in the morning, the driver will pick you from your hotel of residence or Entebbe at 7am. After brief you about the 1 day rhino trekking Uganda safari and after start up the journey to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for the day’s activities.

The journey takes 3 hours and we shall drive through districts of Kampala, luweero until Nakasongola district which is the home of the ziwa rhino sanctuary on the kampala-luweero highway. On arrival you will be briefed by the trained rangers who will guide you through the trekking activity. The rangers will as well tell you the rules and regulations as well as the history of the sanctuary.

While on the trek, you will see a variety of white rhinos as well as other animals such as bushbucks, reedbucks, monkeys, oribis and many more. You will take photos and questions about rhinos and wildlife at large. The trekking activity lasts for 2 to 3 hours depending on the position of the rhinos and tracking is done on foot.

After the trekking in the sanctuary, we head to kabalega dinners for lunch and relax for some time. Then after proceed with the journey back to Kampala or Entebbe or any preferred drop off point.
