DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1; KIGALI CITY TOUR – TRAVEL TO VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK
Early in the morning after morning breakfast, the guide/ driver will pick you and brief you about the safari and then drive to the city for a tour. The city is among the cleanest cities in Africa and has historical sites such as the Kigali genocide memorial site, Gisozi genocide of 1994 as well as kimironko market for craft and souvenir for shopping among others. After the city tour, you will have lunch and proceed to the volcanoes national park and upon arrival you will check into the lodge, have dinner and a night stay.

DAY 2; MOUNT KARISIMBI HIKING
After breakfast early in the morning, you will head to the national parks headquarters for a briefing about the hiking as well as rules and regulation. Thereafter you will start off the hike with your packed lunch as you pass through the ridges, bamboo forests, beautiful calderas as well as the amazing views of the surrounding. While on the hike you will have a stopover for lunch and proceed with the hike up to the campsite where you will have dinner and a night stay.
DAY 3; REACH MOUNT KARISIMBI SUMMIT AND DESCEND
Wake up early in the morning and have breakfast then set off from the camp and head to the summit. The hike takes 3 to 4 hours and it’s rewarding with views of the amazing landscape, green forest cover and volcano Nyamulangira and Nyiragongo views that are still active. After reaching the summit you will descend up to the parks headquarters and exit the park to Kigali city. On reaching the city, you will be dropped off at your hotel or at Kigali international airport for your flight.
