Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 – Kampala to Bwindi
Transfer to Bwindi: We’ll leave between 6:00 and 7:00 in the morning, and the trip should take us around nine hours. We’ll stop along the way in a town named Kayabwe, which is the location of the Uganda Equator. The primary latitude line that divides the planet into the southern and northern hemispheres lies here. Before continuing on to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, we will stop there to snap pictures and have a lunch of local fare. As we prepare for the Bwindi gorilla trekking trip the next day, we will spend the majority of our time relaxing after we get at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the evening.
Day 2 – Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi National Park
Gorilla tracking: On the second day of our three-day safari in Bwindi, we go gorilla trekking. We must first get instruction before traveling to the jungle to view the mountain gorillas. At the 7:30 AM pre-briefing, you will learn about safety precautions, get important information, and have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have concerning the next gorilla trekking excursion. We will leave no later than 8:30 AM to do gorilla trekking, a strenuous physical sport that calls for a certain degree of fitness, as we go into Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home of mountain gorillas. We will be accompanied by a few armed game rangers. Your paces will determine the categories you are assigned to.
