DETAILED SAFARI
DAY 1; ARRIVAL IN RWANDA
On arrival, you will be picked by the safari driver guide who will brief you about the safari. After the briefing, you will have a short city tour in Kigali and then have lunch. After lunch, you will head to your lodge for dinner and a night stay.
DAY 2; BIRD WATCHING IN NYABARONGO AND NYARUTARAMA
After breakfast, you will drive to Nyabarongo river wetland which is a home to many bird species such as papyrus gonolek, northern brown-throat weaver and papyrus yellow warbler among others. You will have lunch and later head to Nyarutarama artificial lake for another bird watching experience. Later in the evening, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and a night stay.
DAY 3; BIRD WATCHING IN AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK
After your morning breakfast, you will drive through the acacia and papyrus vegetation where you will spot bird species such as papyrus gonolek, squacco herons, grey crowned crane, broad tailed warblers, shoe bill stork, water thick knee, African open bill stock, red faced barbet, lesser kestrel and miombo wren-warblers among others. After, you will return to the lodge for dinner and night stay.
After lunch, you will drive back to the park for another bird watching experience and later, return to the lodge have dinner and a night stay.
DAY 4; MORNING BIRD WATCHING AND TRANSFER BACK TO KIGALI
In the early morning after breakfast, you will be transferred to Akagera national park for a bird watching experience as you drive through the park. You will spot bird species such as long-tailed cisticola, squacco herons, lesser kestrel, grey crowned crane, African open bill stock, African darter among others. You will as well spot bird species such as zebras, giraffes, elephants, antelopes among others. After, you will head back to the lodge for lunch and after lunch, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the journey back to Kigali. On arrival, you will check into the lodge for dinner and a night stay.
DAY 5; BIRD WATCHNG IN BUGESERA VALLEY AND DEPART
After morning breakfast, you will drive to Bugesera valley for a bird watching experience. The valley is a home to many bird species and while on a safari, you will spot birds such as papyrus canary crithagra koliensis, white winged swamp, and white collared olive back among others. After the valley, you will visit the Ntarama and Nyamata genocide memorial sites where you will learn about the genocide of 1994. After, you will have lunch and be dropped off at the Kigali international airport for your flight back home.
