7 days Uganda Bird watching safari takes you to the birding spots of Uganda such as the mabamba wetlands, Lake Mburo national park and Queen Elizabeth national park. DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 1; BIRD WATCHING IN ENTEBBE

The safari guide/ driver will pick you and brief you about the safari and after transfer you to your hotel for a refreshment. After you will head to Entebbe at botanical gardens as well as Uganda wildlife education center where you will spot birds such as marsh sandpipers, Madagascar bee-eater, great reed, malachite, red chested, pygmy kingfisher, golden and yellow backed weavers, ruff wood and palm swift.

DAY 2; BIRD WATCHING IN MABAMBA WETLAND AND LUTEMBE BAY

In the morning after having your breakfast and packed snacks, you will be transferred to mabamba wetland an ideal place for spotting the famous shoebill stork which is among the threatened species in Uganda. Other birds include scarlet chested, reed warblers, temminck’s stint, lesser, jacana, slender billed, golden backed weaver, orange spottled backed, spur winged goose and African purple swamp hen among others.

DAY 3; TRANSFER TO LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK

Early in the morning, you will have breakfast and embark on the journey to Lake Mburo National Park through masaka-mbarara highway. There will be a stopover at the equator for shopping, stretching and information about the equator and photography. After, you will proceed with the journey to Lake Mburo and you will have lunch. After having your lunch, you will proceed for an evening game drive where you will spot impalas, zebras, lions, elephants, elands and warthogs among others, bird species such as lesser jacana, lappet faced vultures, harlequin, rufous-bellied heron and many more. After you will head back to your lodge relax, have dinner and a night stay.

DAY 4; BIRD WATCHING IN LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK

On the 4th day of your 7 days Uganda Bird watching safari, after your morning breakfast, you will head for a full day bird trail, wildlife and flora species. Birds such as white headed, coqui, red-faced barbet, ruppell’s griffon, red headed weaver, martial eagle and crested francolin among others.

After you will head for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo where you will spot water birds such as vultures, pelican bee-eaters, African fin foots, swallows among others. After you will head back to the lodge relax as you wait for dinner and a night stay.

DAY 5; TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

In the morning, after your morning breakfast, you will embark on the journey to Queen Elizabeth national park with en-route lunch in mbarara. On arrival at the national park, you will embark on a boat cruise at kazinga channel as you spot hippos, crocodiles, rhinos, and water birds such as vultures, sparrow hawk, African skimmer, swallows, African spoonbill, warblers and many more

Later in the evening you will visit the katwe Crater Lake where you will view the flamingos as well as the setting of the sun. After you will head to your lodge for dinner and a night stay.

DAY 6; BIRD WATCHING IN QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

Early in the morning after your breakfast, you will head out to the savannah region within Queen Elizabeth national park in search of the savannah birds such as African crake, martial eagle, ovambo sparrow, hawk, lappet faced vultures, buttonquail, harlequin, lesser flamingo and ruppell’s griffon among others. Besides birds, you will spot wildlife species and the flora. After you will head back to the lodge and have late lunch, as you relax and wait for dinner and a night stay.

DAY 7; NATURE WALK IN KYAMBURA GORGE AND TRANSFER BACK TO KAMPALA

After having your morning breakfast, you will head for a nature walk in kyambura gorge where you will enjoy spotting a number of primates, bird species as well as tree species. After you will head back to your lodge for lunch and embark on the journey back to Kampala. After reaching Kampala, you will be dropped at the airport for your flight back home.
