5 days gorilla habituation and Queen Elizabeth national park is an adventure of a life time that one should have on a safari in uganda. The safari takes you to Bwindi impenetrable national park a home of the endangered mountain gorillas where you will experience the habituation process where you will spend four hours with the gorillas in their natural habitat. After you will head to Queen Elizabeth national park which is the second largest national park in Uganda and is a home to wildlife species such as lions, elephants, uganda kob, waterbucks, hippos, crocodiles as well as bird species that can be spotted while on a game drive and boat cruise on kazinga channel.

DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 1; TRANSFER TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK

The safari guide will pick you from your location and brief you about the Uganda safari. After the briefing, you will embark on the journey to bwindi impenetrable national park. You will have a stopover at the equator for photography as well as buying souvenirs. After you will proceed with the journey and have lunch at the Igongo cultural center. After you will continue with the journey up to the national park, on arrival, you will check into your lodge for dinner and a night stay.

DAY 2; GORILLA HABITUATION EXPERIENCE

Early in the morning after having breakfast, you will be transferred to the national parks headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will be grouped into 4 people and head to the forest in search of the gorillas. The gorilla habituation is majorly done in Rushaga sector with a team of researchers, gorilla doctors and park guides. While on the trek, you will spot primates such as vervet monkeys, white and black colobus monkeys l’hoest monkeys as well as bird species such as rwenzori batis, handsome francolin among others.

Once the gorillas are located you will be allowed to spend with them 4 hours as you learn about their behaviors, naming as you take pictures and videos. After, you will head back to your lodge for a relaxation, have dinner and a night stay.

DAY 3; TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

Early in the morning you will check out of the lodge and embark on a journey to Queen Elizabeth national park which takes 2 to 3 hours where you will have a game drive in the ishasha sector for a tree climbing lion’s experience. The lions in ishasha are seen lying up in the acacia fig tree branches watching their prey grazing in the open savannah plains. After the game drive in the ishasha sector, you will proceed to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will check in your lodge for dinner and a night stay.

DAY 4; MORNING GAME DRIVE AND AFTERNOON BOAT CRUISE

Early in the morning after breakfast, you will head for a morning game drive where you will spot for animals such as lions, leopards, elephants, waterbucks, buffalos, giant forest hogs, warthogs and bird species such as African skimmer, grey crowned crane, and yellow throated long crow among others. After the game drive, you will head back to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will head for an afternoon boat cruise at the magnificent kazinga channel which takes 2 to 3 hours. While on a boat cruise you will spot hippos, Nile crocodiles in water, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, aquatic birds such as long tailed cormorants, spur winged plover, black crake, papyrus gonolek, African jacana among others. After the boat cruise you will drive back to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and a night stay.

DAY 5; TRANSFER BACK TO KAMPALA

After your relaxed breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and have a short game drive within the park. After the game drive, you will embark on the journey back to Kampala with enroute lunch in mbarara. After lunch, you will continue with the journey up to Kampala. On arrival in Kampala, you will be dropped off at the airport for your flight back home.
