DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1; TRANSFER TO RUHENGERI-VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK
The safari guide will meet you and brief you about the safari and head for a city tour in Kigali town. While on the city tour, you will visit kimironko market and the genocide memorial site. After you will have lunch at the historical Hotel Des Mille Collines famous for the movie ‘Hotel Rwanda’. Thereafter you will head to Ruhengeri that is near the volcanoes national park in the northern province of Rwanda. After reaching, you will check into the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and a night stay.
DAY 2; GORILLA TREKKING IN THE VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK
Early in the morning after breakfast, you will head to the parks headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will proceed to the forest in search for the mountain gorillas. The trekking takes 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. After finding the gorillas, you will spend with them an hour as you watch them play, feed and breast feed among others. After you will take photos and videos and head back to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and a night stay.
DAY 3; TRANSFER TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast in the morning, we shall embark on the journey to kisoro where the gorilla trekking is carried out in the southern sector of bwindi. After you will have lunch and enter Uganda through the Cyanika border as you reach kisoro. After you will proceed to bwindi and check in your lodge and have dinner and a night stay.
DAY 4; MOUNTAIN GORILLA TREKKING
You will have an early morning breakfast then proceed to the national parks headquarters with your packed lunch for a briefing. After, you will head into the forest in search of the mountain gorillas. Once the gorillas are found, you will spend with them an hour as you notice their behaviors such as their feeding patterns, breastfeeding, how they play as well as how they relate with one another. After you will take photos and videos for remembrance and you will be awarded a certificate to show that you participated in the trekking. After you will head back to your lodge and relax, have dinner and a night stay.
DAY 5; LAKE BUNYONYI VISIT AND TRANSFER BACK TO KIGALI
Early in the morning after breakfast, we shall drive to Lake Bunyonyi for a short motorized canoe tour as you admire the beauty of the lake. After you will have lunch at the bird nest and proceed with the journey back to Kigali. On arriving to Kigali, you will be dropped off at the airport for your flight.
